Welcome to the Arab Alabama Chamber of Commerce
The Arab city School Board operates four schools: a primary school consisting of  K-2, an elementary school with grades 3-5, a junior high school with grades 6-8, and a high school composed of grades 9-12.  Enrollment in the city schools total approximately 2600 students.  The Alabama State Department of Education and the Southern Association of colleges and Schools accredit all four schools.

The Arab City School System provides a full day, full-year kindergarten program for all eligible children.

School bus transportation is provided to students within the city limits.  Approximately 66% of the students attending school in Arab are transported by bus.

Arab City Schools provide quality in education through facilities and outstanding staff and technological opportunities found primarily in larger school systems.  Technological opportunities for Arab students begin in kindergarten and culminate at the high school with various cutting edge technologies, including the hardware and software necessary to meet industry standards in the field of business, computers and drafting.  Through a united effort of the school system, Arab City Council, private businesses, local civic organizations and others, Arab schools provide technology and training which benefits the students, the community and local industries.

A five-member board appointed by the City Council governs the Arab City School System.  The School board appoints the Superintendent of Education to administer the school system.  The State of Alabama provides approximately 70% of the system's operating budget.  Local revenue provides the remaining amounts.

Results of standardized achievement tests show that students in the Arab City School consistently score well above state and national levels.  The school system strives to ensure that each student, upon graduation, will be equipped with the basic education needed to enter the world of work or to go on to college or university.  Snead State Community College in Boaz provides dual enrollment of qualified high school students who wish to take college level classes simultaneously.

Approximately 60% of high school graduates enter an institution of higher education.

Vocational and technical education courses are taught at Arab High School .  Students may also take courses at the Marshall Technical School .

In addition to the regular instructional program in grades K-12, special education classes are offered to students with mental, emotional or speech disabilities.  Special classes are also available for gifted and talented students.
